Apparently, Grand Theft Auto 6 has been under development for almost ten years
Last year there was a major leak of information about Rockstar Games progress in the development of a game, as a result of which the players received a detailed idea of the early shots from the game.
Take-Two has already confirmed that the project is very ambitious, and Rockstar Games seeks perfection. The studio, perhaps, spent more than half of the decade, and the game was in development even before the release of Red Dead Redemption 2.
According to the profile in LinkedIn, work on GTA 6 was carried out back in 2015.
Why is it important: with each generation of AAA, the games become more and longer. It can also mean that the next GTA game can be released only in ten years.
As one of Reddit users found out, a former Rockstar employee worked on GTA 6 in 2015.
This means that the game has been in development for at least eight years. Since the profile indicates only the experience of the developer himself, it is possible that early work on the game began before 2015.
Recently, Take-Two hinted that the GTA 6 release will take place in 2024-2025. Thus, the game development cycle will be about one full decade, which may make it the most time -consuming project in the industry.
Often studios begin to work on new projects immediately after the game is released. However, Rockstar Games has released Red Dead Redemption 2 during this period.
Perhaps this is another hint of incredible ambitions of the studio in relation to GTA 6. Despite the fact that such an amazing game as Red Dead Redemption 2 is preparing to exit in 2018, the developer has already begun work on the next part of Grand Theft Auto.
The LinkedIn profile also mentions the continuation of Bully. This is an additional confirmation that the Bully 2 at some point was in development, but, according to various sources, the game was canceled by the studio.
Each new information about the GTA 6 causes more and more excitement around the game. However, recently, Rockstar Games has been criticized for the next unsuccessful reprint of Red Dead Redemption.
However, the studio has not yet disappointed the audience with new games. Rockstar Games continues to release games that determine the genre over the past 15 years, and GTA 6 can be another excellent addition to the catalog of the studio’s exceptional games.
