Dungeons of the Amber Griffin transferred to Unreal Engine 5
In Dungeons of the Amber Griffin, Dange Kronere, the action of which will take place in the mythical version of Kashubia (the West Slavic ethnic territory of the Kashubs in the north-west of Poland), there were quite a lot of changes.
Developers from Froengem, announced that the game was postponed from Unreal Engine 4 to Unreal Engine 5.
How it works in practice, you can see for yourself, because at present there is an open test in Steam. To do this, just go to the game page and use the option "Request access"
The test version is already working on UE 5. The transition to the new version allowed the authors to implement such technologies as Lumen, Nanite, Virtual Shadows, Global Illumination and Virtual Texture Streaming. Developers also added support (on NVIDIA maps) DLSS 3 technologies.5, Reflex and Upscaling. In the coming weeks, authors plan to implement AMD FSR2.
Testing will last until November 17 of the current year.
The test version offers five modes:
- Tutorial
- The musical regime in which players will fight the dead under the rhythm of the song of the Percival Schuttenbach group to get as many artifacts as possible for the minimum time.
- Puzzle Mode mode, in which we find ourselves in an underground crypt with a set of logical puzzles.
- Speedrun mode is an underground racing track that checks the dexterity of players.
- Benchmark mode is a fragment of an autumn location with dynamic lighting in which players can check their PC.
As you can see, the early version does not allow you to check the plot mode, which is the main essence of the game. Instead, those who take part in the tests will be rewarded with additional objects that can be used in the campaign in the full version.
Dungeons of the Amber Griffin is still released exclusively on PC. The debut of games in early access is expected next year.
