Today, Nintendo announced financial results for the first quarter of the financial year (from April 1 to June 30) and published updated information about the number of Switch devices shipped around the world since the console launch in 2017.

From the press release published by Nintendo, we learn that as of June 30, 2023, 129.53 million units of Nintendo Switch were received for retail sale. This means that 3.91 million devices were shipped for the first quarter. This is 13.9% more than in the previous quarter.

The forecast for the current financial year remains the same as published in the last quarter: 15 million supplies for the Switch console and 180 million copies for its games. If this indicator is reached, then by March 31, 2024 the total volume of Switch supplies will be 140.62 million. copies.

As for the financial results of the company, the volume of sales amounted to 461.3 billion. yen, increasing by 50% compared to the previous year, and operating profit – 185.4 billion. yen, increasing by 82.4% compared to the previous year, which indicates a very strong quarter for the company based in Kyoto.
